Share Your Time and Talents

Volunteer at PathWays

PathWays offers individualized opportunities that allow you to support our mission through hands-on experiences that are tailored to your interests and expertise. We welcome volunteers as a way to build partnerships with businesses or service groups, enable community members to explore career options, fulfill a school or employer's services expectation, or provide a way to support a cause you feel passionate about. We assist with the training and supervision you need in order to make your time here rewarding and meaningful — both for yourself and the lives you touch.

The Art of Expression: In this arts-related workshop, you’ll be paired with an adult in our programs to create all types of projects. These workshops allow people to express themselves creatively, helping them to realize new strengths and develop a greater sense of dignity and independence.

Curb Appeal Club: Help beautify PathWays residences and facilities. Volunteer groups spend a few hours to a full day helping to clean and plant gardens, paint murals, or assist with special renovation projects.

Employment Guidance: Spend two hours helping individuals supported by PathWays with resume and cover letter writing, e-mail correspondence, managing online applications and following up with potential employers after an interview.

Hobbies & Recreation: Work as part of a group with individuals who attend our Recreation Programs. Volunteers can help people by assisting with different sports activities, yoga, fitness, cooking, arts, drama, photography, creative writing, or any special area of interest that you might want to share with others. You can volunteer for a full or half day.

Interview PrepWork one-on-one with our individuals to help them gain confidence and sharpen their employment interview skills. Each hour and a half session provides them with two 30 minute mock interviews and feedback, as well as training for the volunteers.

Money Management: Teach financial literacy skills to adults in our programs who need to understand how to save money. During a two-hour workshop, volunteers work one-on-one with them helping them to improve their budgeting skills, understand credit, and increase their savings.

Person-to-Person Program: Will match people who participate in one or more of our programs with volunteers from the community based on common interests. Both people will need to commit to a partnership of at least a year, ideally growing into a longer, perhaps lifetime relationship. Volunteers and those supported will spend leisure time together to bridge the gap between people with intellectual disabilities and their peers.
